Cuando Susana Weingarten (codirectora de la compa\u00f1\u00eda de danza \u201cDancevert\u201d) se puso en contacto conmigo por intermediaci\u00f3n de su primo Ar\u00f3n Gilbert, no imagin\u00e9 que se trataba de una bailarina de desbordante talento.<\/strong> Ella hab\u00eda visto las fotos que les tom\u00e9 a Ar\u00f3n y a Shie Gilbert para el libro El \u00faltimo sobreviviente <\/em>y le gustaron, por lo que quer\u00eda que yo la retratara. Estaba de paso en M\u00e9xico, pues radica en Nueva York donde tiene una compa\u00f1\u00eda de danza con su esposo, Tom Evert. Despu\u00e9s nos enterar\u00edamos que durante su estancia en M\u00e9xico recibieron un reconocimiento por parte del Pennsylvania Arts Council por sus logros y su excelencia en su amplio trabajo coreogr\u00e1fico y educativo y sus presentaciones p\u00fablicas (ver nota m\u00e1s abajo). Nos reunimos un lunes para conocernos, y la pl\u00e1tica se prolong\u00f3 hasta la madrugada. Acordamos vernos al d\u00eda siguiente para la sesi\u00f3n. Si bien ella ten\u00eda algunas ideas sobre lo que iba a hacer, acabamos improvisando. La m\u00fasica de jazz ligero que puse en un inicio no la motiv\u00f3, de manera que me pidi\u00f3 que pusiera algo m\u00e1s movido. Le suger\u00ed la m\u00fasica que uso para hacer ejercicio, una mezcla de Rammstein, Lacrimosa, Apocalliptica, Marilyn Manson e In Extremo. Le gust\u00f3 la idea y la din\u00e1mica cambi\u00f3. Tuve enfrente a una artista de la danza y del performance que maneja con enorme talento los movimientos de su cuerpo: sus brazos y manos, sus piernas, su rostro y su mirada. Con una sola fuente de luz lateral fuimos creando una galer\u00eda de fotos que reflejan la versatilidad de Susana y su virtuosismo en el terreno de la danza, su sensualidad y erotismo. Esta galer\u00eda es s\u00f3lo una muestra de lo que fue el resultado.<\/p>\n

Dancevert receives “Award” from the Pennsylvania Arts Council for their achievement and excellence of their vast choreographic, performing and educational work <\/strong><\/p>\n

While Susana Weingarten, co-director of Dancevert was in her native Mexico City on vacation, and partner of Tom Evert, the Pennsylvania Arts Council awarded these great artists with the important annual award for illustrious, unique and excellent choreographic, performing and educative work.
\nThe council considered this couple to be one of most creative and eloquent in their art-form ( Dance\/Theater ) for many years.<\/p>\n

They also consider Tom Evert and Susana Weingarten as one of the most beautiful and charismatic couple which creates works that are sensual, erotic, deep and full of expressive concepts that are important for our culture and the representation of it in the world. The Everts travel the world continuously representing a universal message that humankind forgets and needs to be reminded through all the art-forms. However with their art-form, Dance\/Theater which is an art form that many underestimate and do not understand quite well, they have the facility and skill to express and reach with profound concepts, through movement and drama many levels of understanding and ages, and they capture their minds and hearts with much openness.<\/p>\n

The most recent and clear sample is their recent tour to the South of India were their work was received quite well, and were they have been invited to come back to work in schools and many venues around more regions of India.
